Odd Schematic Editing Behavior

Postby deraudrl » Mon Jan 27, 2020 2:18 am

I'd noticed several times that when I opened some schematics from the forum, modules/primitives were pushed up beyond the top border of the viewport, even if the viewport is moved as high up on the schematic as it will go. Here's a capture to illustrate:
align3.png
align3.png (90.52 KiB) Viewed 8376 times

The three modules are copies, only the names changed. Here's the schematic to play around with:
Align.fsm
(94.79 KiB) Downloaded 709 times

There appears to be a correlation with where the mouse cursor is relative to the object when you start dragging it to move it...sometimes you can drrive the name completely off-screen, sometimes only halfway. (I verified that the problem, minor as it is, still exists in the current FS4 alpha.)

And if this is something everybody but me has known about for years, well, just move along, nothing to see here.
I keep a pair of oven mitts next to my computer so I don't get a concussion from slapping my forehead while I'm reading the responses to my questions.

You know, after more than 6 years with FS I never noticed that!

I would suggest you report it in the Help section of the Slack group.

Cheers

Ok. Is the 'Help' channel the right place for bug reports?

I'll see your six and raise you another six!
I can't believe that I haven't done it by accident many times, especially back in my tiny-screen days; but it's obviously never battered down the door of my conscious awareness!

The "mouse correlation" is something to do with rounding the mouse's "y-delta" to grids, I think - it seems that strips one grid in height alternate between the full effect and only going half-way off.
All schematics/modules I post are free for all to use - but a credit is always polite!
Don't stagnate, mutate to create!
