Well - you were not very specific.
Check this forums and synthmaker forums for serial number and other protections ("seach" box) - I'm sure you will find something like this. While I don't know to what degree you wish to play with security, here is something simple you could try:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1831&p=8952
It isn't using any key-dependent coding (can be decoded via simple websites), but it may give you the idea how to approach it.
And some suplement here:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1857&p=9142
Everything else is a matter of playing with gui.
And something else:

if testers links didnt help you, you also could do some 3rd party protection, there are hundrets of companies who protect your software like http://soraco.co/QuickLicenseManager.aspx
but also lots of ecommerce shop solutions offer some licensekey API`s to include some system into your app, now with the new dll feature things like this should be possible..
