Kautz Filters
Hello Gang,
When I first stated the forum here I was hoping someone would develop a TWIN-T filter for impulse triggered ringing sounds (drums, strings, etc) but it never came about. I thought I could maybe configure one hardware wise, but also no luck. In my internet research though I discovered this filter, the KAUTZ filter. From my reading it looks like it can do the same as a twin-t and much more. Now I am NO expert on filters and can by no means do any designs. I thought some great filter designers (Martin, etc) out there might want to look this over and see what you think. I have added some papers on the subject from the internet, but please look more as this is just a few from many on the net if you are interested.
Anyway hope to see something in the future.
Have fun, BobF.....

Hi Tronic,
Many thanks! VERY interesting reading, just hope some of the filter/programming experts see it and can use it also.
I would really like to see a nice filter that could be wrung on a impulse .
Again, thanks BobF....

Nice one, Tronic! I actually had a project going on (which I finished today and posted elsewhere) where I used a complex filter topology. It has some nice features copared to direct forms.
Anyway, I think this thread is about filters with LOTS of resonances. Sure, you can use the complex resonator as a bulding bock, but the real challenge is how to choose the poles and then of course CPU load.
