FS for Ubuntu ?
We'll, just thought about it after reading that more and more manufacturers bring out their laptops and pc with Ubuntu installed. You also read that Win8 is dramatically decreasing sales of pc's and such that manufacturers are jumping over to Ubuntu. Apple is also doing worser and worser on the market.
So would'nt it be a good idea to bring out FS for Linux Ubuntu? And i don't mean via Wine or something like that.
This should also be a consideration for other software developers like Steinberg, IK Multimedia, Waves and such. Because i really think that Ubuntu is going to take over the market as more and more hardware manufacturers are making the switch and more people get to meet and learn Ubuntu.
I tried Ubuntu several years ago, but as there was still no good sequencer and no support from any plugin maker i dropped it quick and stayed at Windows.
But now like HP and Dell making a switch then also more and more drivers will be available for hardware. And i think these days you have to support more then one platform.
Now it seems there is going to be a bigger change on the market.
What is your idea? (Support maybe any future thought's ?)

Re: FS for Ubuntu ?
The Idea seems to be good. But does DSPRobotics/Outsim are intrested? During the last 5 years I've seem people post around the same proposition, but about MAC... About Mp3, about wathever that could open oportunities to those who develop VSTs and also can get better from Synthmaker/Flowstone. I've been developing instruments, romplers and effects... Wwe can get a great design with SM & FS but as vsts they are lousy, unthrustful, use a lot of CPU, have clicks, Midi and sound, in lots of cases, work fine when you are on SM or FS but the moment you transform them in VSTs they became rubish! They don't work properly, the sound is bad and uses too much CPU. I see guys like Wizoo, Toontrack and so on that have heavy stuff with lots of samplers and programming, but they work great! Surely because they don't use SM or FS. If you pay attention to the administrators posts (and examples) on the FS forum during this year, you can understand that the creation power is on guys like Trog, MHZ, Nixx, Infuzion, etc. But an administration that posts 102 exemples since day one (some useless)... How can you ask them to do more? This is already too much for them!!! I still believe that one day they wake up and understand what they are losing. The market is full of free VSTs, some good some rubish. Developing or creating VSTs to sell with this SM & FS could have been a dream come true but it isn't! That's not only DSPRobotics/Outsim mistake, it's a damn problem in the Web... Silly people give away their work and distroy the market! See what happened with the music market, Recording and production. There's no solution. Most people want things for free and don't buy. But mostly they got free garbadge made with programs like SE, SM & FS. Am I losing my time? Are you losing yours? I still have faith that this guys at FS & SM decide to make this program really work as it shoul and be universal. PC/MAC/Linux/Etc.
So it will be worth to continue develop VSTs... So help us God!
Cheers
Ruben
