generate windows 8 "modern app"

Postby Quentin » Tue Feb 10, 2015 8:54 pm

Hey I was suprised that there I couldn't find a single forum post pertaining to this subject, So I thought I'd post one.
Is it possible to make flowstone .exe's behave as "modern apps" in the microsoft vocabulary.
General searches lead me to the microsoft development tool
App packager (MakeAppx.exe)
Can this be used to build an "app" from an .exe? or is it a more integrated within the compiler/build process?
I ask because I have a Dell venue Pro tablet which I got recently for $150 bucks and runs flowstone .exe's beautifully as "desktop apps"
Incidentally (tangent) The windows 8 on screen keyboard is annoying and doesn't come up automatically when editing a field (is there a work around for this? I tried calling the osk from the command line module)
I want to lock the device down as a kiosk and was happy to see that window 8.1 has a built in feature for this- only just for "modern apps"
Anyone have any thoughts/experience with this.
Thanks so much, this has been a positive and helpful forum and saved me from folly many times now.
