It should be a similar thing. You shuffle around and modify some data.
Only difference is that you do it per sample, instead of per list item, or whatever ruby gave you.
You even got a simpler c-derivate syntax to go with.

There are tons of examples and working modules similar to what you describe downloadable from the sm forum.
