2 USB 8 Channel Audio Devices

Hi,

I am trying to get 2 8 Channel GIGAport AG USB Audio output (they only output) devices working on my Windows 7 x64 system. I am using the windows drivers at the moment because they were the only ones that would allow both cards to be enabled on my system. Each time I would plug in the second USB device it would give an "error 10" cannot start device...

Again, each one of the 8 channel GIGAport AG devices works fine separately but I cannot get 2 of them to work(?)

I need to have 10 channels (minimum) of output for a project and need help from anyone who may have gotten multiple audio devices working on a machine please.

I wanted to add that ASIO4ALL shows all 16 outputs but does not work... i.e. while I can open the ASIO4ALL configuration dialog, Flowstone does not output ANY signal...?

It all seems to "work" but no output, no streaming data etc.

Have you tried this Asio4All configuration with another software? Maybe it's not a FlowStone issue.
I guess DirectSound wouldn't work, because it only allows 1 device to be active at any time. I don't think FS could even work with multiple active audio devices, as they might have different properties (Sample rate, buffer size,sample types,...)

Some testing...

I did try to use them with the windows "Playback Devices" and "testing the 7.1 surround sound" and both work there (?)

I will try outputting all 16 channels thru Reaper using the same ASIO4ALL driver as soon as I get home today from work. I'll let you know what happens...

What happens if this is a Flowstone bug ???

If it's not an obvious error, then I guess you are out of luck, because the devs would need exactly your hardware to test it. Although I don't think that's a FS problem, it just uses the same Asio implementation like every other software.

Hi,

Just wanted to say the issue turned out to be crappy / bad ASIO drivers AND the fact that the driver treated both boards separately and so was just muxing (switching / alternating) the 16 (8 x 2) data outputs !

The noise and signal was AWFULL !

Working on a custom 16 output USB 2.0 to DAC system now... it works with 5 channels, so it should work with all 16. I may add 16 inputs as well... maybe I can compete with "Allen & Heath"

Question, does anyone have a use for (or need) an 8 output DAC with 2 input ADC interface (44.1 / 16 bit) to / from Flowstone for about 200USD (maybe 175USD depending on my build qty) ???

I designed one (tested Win 7x32 x64, 8.1, 10, should work on a MAC) and would build some up and sell them, but did not know if anyone here would be interested. I can't use the design / PCB because it does not have enough output channels for me now...
Also. the interface can be jumpered for either DC or AC coupling on the out puts (and inputs), so they can be used with audio as well as scope art projects, data acquisition etc.
