Just if u open a new project with 3.09 u cant use the synth in old versions again. sick!

In my experience, as software develops new features are added and the file format changes so earlier versions can't interpret the newly saved format.
Very high profile apps like MS Word can save in older formats for compatibility but FS doesn't have this feature by its very nature.
I do hope your data is backed up somewhere...
