Re: NEW OSCILLATOR
Hi Bob
I made this 3 stage ring oscillator using your gates and a simple delay for each stage to simulate delay caused by slew rate. When you turn on the stream it self-oscillates, in the audio range, as set by the delay time.
Cheers

Re: NEW OSCILLATOR
Hi Spogg,
It works with just one inverter as it does with 3, 4, and so on and at the same frequency.
I am still NOT positive if this is the same as just the three inverters with feedback.
Wish some expert would ring in on this with a finite answer.
Cheers, BobF.....

Re: NEW OSCILLATOR
Hello gang,
Ok, this is just for fun and also as a educational project because we have plenty of great oscillators. It does have some problems I believe, a kind of inter-modulation distortion for one and probably others.
If anyone would like to play around with it and fix the problems, that would really be kind of you. Also any other fixes, mods, and suggestions would be welcome. When I build something like this I just like to see it working better than I have taken it if possible.
Thanks and have fun! Cheers, BobF.....

Hi Gang,
In the old days we made up this circuit with resistors and capacitors, in a 'ring' if you like, and were called 'Phase Shift' oscillators.
The resistor capacitor network was in fact a 3 stage high pass network, each stage supplied a 60 degree phase shift for the required 180 degree shift.
They worked amazingly well.
