Static 5 band Crossover - NEDF

Postby wlangfor@uoguelph.ca » Thu May 02, 2019 3:23 pm

This is a working 5 Band crossover that is not pretty but it is at unity. It's designed merely to allow You to have 5 working signals with which to induce digital signal processing.

I was going to use it for a gain riding soft peak limiter (but not a governor; Nor an enveloping compressor either).

I'd like to come across less cosmetic 5 band crossovers that use the same amount of CPU. If anyone has something the equivalent; Please let me know. But again, this is not for EQ's or Gain staging as it is merely to provide 5 signals for width control, or limiting, compression or something like that.

Here's a screen shot of the optimized filter module:

And here is a screenshot of the demo showing unity (in any sample rate).

Please enjoy, But in light of there being something just as efficient which is more professional, I'll take this one down.
I need to check out Juha_TP's amazing filter too come to think of it. That might be the ticket.

And please keep in mind, I would find this very filter's existence offensive, but it sounds nice and only uses 0.5-0.6% CPU. I'm hoping eventually that i will be able to balance the bands so that there is no hump in the bass. The treble though... Sounds too nice that I wouldn't change it.

Such a small change there at the end. But that will have major repercussions.

Yes I agree. I have looking back and going over crossover types. What it comes down to obviously is optimization. I've found a few and will make a useful guide with download locations of other more scientific crossovers. This one merely sounds nice and is fast. But there is one or two scientific types that are just as fast with five bands :)

And that was My goal ultimately.
