Re: How to make presets diffrent name?
FXB and FXP files are old school Cubase VST preset files that used to be made within the daw with the save as FXP/FXB feature, now disbanded in cubase back in version 4 i think , They use VST3preset file type nowadays! sonar still imports them im think but im not sure if it exports them!
if you really want to provide them for people i think you will have to export them from a vst2 preset compliant daw or export vstpreset files and use a convertor application like extreme sample converter or FXtractor to convet them to FXP/FXB
most people are looking for ways to convert FXP and FXB to other more modern and usable formats these days!
why do you want them in FXP? Flowstones preset system cant use them!
regards

Re: How to make presets diffrent name?
yup it will work to rename the filetype to whatever you like but it is still a txt file and the FXP format is used by several other applications, so it will cause confusion to other apps if used on the same computer by your customers/users
make up you own extension name and that will solve that problem! here is a list of extensions in use by other applications http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_file_formats
so you dont want another preset type, just the illusion ofthem not being txt files?
