Currently Arial is still available in Win 10 standard installs. But if you think your synth might be used in future times as well, say, in 5 years from now, it might be better to not rely on it. Either Segoe UI (I read your comment, but it is the primary system font, so I have to metion it) or a font that you bundle with your synth would then be the better alternative.
EDIT: Are you sure you see Segoe UI on your system, and not a substitute?

Thanks; that's useful to know - and for the FontSquirrel link, too!

Re: More Chicken Heads and Quad Sync!
Yes, Segoe UI is in my system, but boy it looks nothing like that!, that's quite nice.
EDIT: Interesting, I just tried Segoe again and realized that my negative reaction was based on the little preview that appears in non-Ruby labels when you change fonts. When actually changed to Segoe that label looks nothing like the preview, but like what you posted. Very nice. I just wish there was a cool condensed font like Tw Cen MT Condensed, that's current. I just looked through the Win10 font list, and unless I missed it, there doesn't appear to be a single condensed font - what the . . .?

There are 69 condensed fonts on FontSquirrel, but you have to expand the tag list to find the 'condensed' tag:k brown wrote:I just wish there was a cool condensed font like Tw Cen MT Condensed, that's current. One called 'Cinematografica' (https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/cinematografica) is about as dense a font as I've seen in many moons.

Re: More Chicken Heads and Quad Sync!
Replaced in original post with version using Trebuchet MS, which is still listed as a standard font for Win10 - it's a bit closer to the pre-war vibe of Tw Cen MT than Segoe is, plus Segoe 'normal' was too light and 'bold' too black/cramped looking; Trebuchet 'normal' was just right.
NOTE: - this page still shows Arial as standard font for Win10.

Updated (OP) with ability for all three LFOs to sync to host. Better readability on Wave selectors. Graphic displays for LFO I shape and EGs.
EDIT (4pm western): added the ability to shape FM of VCO II by VCO I with EG I.

There is a difference between being part of an install and being the system font. I hope, I could work that out!

Sorry, I'm no computer whiz - what exactly is the difference?

Re: More Chicken Heads and Quad Sync!
Only the system font is needed by the system (hence the name). So anybody can decide to do a custum install (contrary to the standard install) and exclude all other fonts if he/she wishes so. Or delete the fonts after they were installed. Also, Microsoft may at any time decide to not bundle certain fonts anymore, incl. Arial.
The only sure thing is that Segoe UI will always be present on a user's PC (just like you could count on Arial from Win 3.0 up to Win Vista). For everything else you can only hope it's installed.

At least until Windows 12, at which point Microsoft will throw its hands in the air and succumb to the awesomeness that is Comic Sans.tulamide wrote:The only sure thing is that Segoe UI will always be present on a user's PC (just like you could count on Arial from Win 3.0 up to Win Vista).
