Waterfall spectrum analyzer

Postby fixstuff555 » Fri Mar 23, 2012 2:19 pm

Question:

Has anyone on the forum worked on a waterfall type spectrum analyzer display using Flowstone or Synthmaker? I'm looking at a couple different methods to analyze an audio signal from a metal detector, and was thinking that a 3D spectragram view of audio changing over time would be very useful. If I take encoder data from travel position (X axis) and encoder position from detector movement (Y axis) it could make the data be more intuitive. Any ideas or experience visualizing audio data this way?

I found this

Which is related to this..

http://synthmaker.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2409

Any idea on how I would go about using the spectrogram shown in the right bottom corner with the audio from the sound card?
