The Quilcom PTS for all your Pulsar Train Synthesis needs

Postby Spogg » Sat Jun 20, 2020 10:54 am

Hello all!

Duckett introduced the idea of Pulsar Train Synthesis in this post:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=39041&p=115796&hilit=pulsar#p115796

Thanks to him I became interested, so I made the Quilcom PTS to explore the possibilities. It was inspired by Hamburg Audio’s Nuklear, but of course it’s my take on the principle.

Here’s the YouTube video:

https://youtu.be/Y-RcUv-Ockc

And here’s the download:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ses5s2gxpdynw ... 2.zip?dl=0

It includes the fsm (3.06), 32 and 64 bit plugins, the user Guide and some interesting background info.

I hope you like it!

Cheers

Spog,

You never disappoint with the intro. I need to one night sit in the dark and play this. I feel like I am going into another dimension like the twilight zone. Nice work and your videos look like a pro.

1. What are you using to make the psychedelic intro?
2. What plugin scope are you using to measure this? It looked good.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Patrick! :D

The scope is J-Scope by Jon Grove:

The Visualisations are done in VSDC:

I only use VSDC for the visuals, I use NCH Videopad for the editing and OBS Studio for the screen capture.

Cheers

Huge timbral range with this - never heard of the technique before; I missed Duckett's post because I can't stomach the sound of the harpsichord. :(

Well done, I give this synth a 10/10. You're definitely a pro now. Your experiences with Johan have honed your skills, fixing things for him; lol.
