Also malc have his words on this. (Hope they fix this soon)

Re: So, when is 64bit VST3.5.x be released in FS?

We wanted to look at this as one of the first things after version 3 was out and settled. We still have a few things to look at in that regard (the ruby dll issue is one such issue). Once we have version 3 where we want it we can then turn our attention to things like 64bit.

There should be som more info about this now after 2 years...

So I would love to see a 64 bit version and would gladly pay a little extra for this.

I would like to say that the lack of 64-bit support is truly the only thing keeping me from purchasing Flowstone.

And, I would probably purchase if I knew that 64-bit was going to happen in the future, even if it is a year or so from now. Just knowing that it will happen would be enough to encourage me to purchase.

Yes! I can not imagine the day when that happens ... I listed that day in my list of holidays and the day will be the first on the list.

Hi
From a personal perspective I only use 32 bit for compatibility reasons. However I would support 64 bit because I feel it will enable FS to appeal to many more potential users and thus carry on into the future. The more people who buy it the more participation we should see in these forums; not a bad thing.
Also I believe most new PCs are pre-loaded with 64 bit Windows and many will not want to re-install their OS for 1 application.
From what I see elsewhere software producers generally don't expect to charge a premium for 64 bit over 32 bit. It seems 64 bit support is a good commercial move to sell more licenses. One example is Reaper's license.
Cheers

Generally speaking 64 bit Windows' can run 32 bit hosts (which of course widely support 32 bit plugins), and even with 64 bit hosts you'll be able to bridge plugins from 32 to 64 bits. At least in most cases.

So normally there would be no need to go as far as re-installing the OS, but you're right about the fact that it's usually not as easy to use 32 bit plugins as it is to use 64 bit plugins nowadays. Therefore the 32 bit market is dying.

Plugins are unique from applications. Windows has no problem running 32 or 64 bit applications. The problem is running 32 bit plugins inside a 64 bit host app. It can be done "much" of the time via bridging, but sometimes this can cause issues, and not everyone's host has a built-in bridge, which means additional steps need to be taken to install and work with a 3rd party bridge. Most people are choosing to forego any risk or complication and just use only native 64 bit plugins in their 64 bit host.

Can anyone, From DSPR or elsewhere, please say how much $ we need to move into the next step?
Looks like nobody ever mentioned that point. Although I see a decent amount of people who would like to support the 64bit development, I have no idea where we are standing right know and how much should be raised.
Mentioning that would give us an indication how close we are, and the closer we get to the needed sum, more and more people would be motivated to support.

DSPR, please answer.

Thanks.

Yes I agree sth like a kickstarter campaign must be started from FS developers to show the exact number of potential customers and also the target fund. This long post shows that there are many interested users who are ready to pay for "FS + 64bit export".

At least I expect a clear road map from DSRP about this upgrade, the absence of developer and admin in related topics makes me worried.

Yes.

This is a simple argument. It is close to the argument of why we have terrabyte drives instead of 15MB... oh you will never need more than 15MB - pfft. Need that 64 bit address space. ruby can do big boy stuff so lets get going on this

Also a pulling for a Linux port. In all seriousness Windows is not reliable enough for embedded host OS; that and FPGA solutions. They do that and they will absolutely overrun LabView.
