Hi guys!

I haven't posted much here, but I've been lurking for a long time while I've been learning how to use flowstone and ruby.

I'm working on a MIDI interface that does some neat tricks for the korg electribes as long term project, but have plenty of other little things on the go. With me primarily being interested in ruby MIDI functionality I have very little experience with the audio or DSP side of things. Rather than start learning it all from scratch I thought it may be more fun to work with someone on a project (or get involved with a community project).

I have a couple of ruby based examples up in the user examples area, none of them are exemplary, but they seem to work well.
If anyone is interested in working on a serato like VST based on DJ controller input and thinks that they could work on the audio side (no modest ask I know), have a look at the example turntable here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3523

otherwise, If anyone is working on a project and would like some ruby MIDI implementation, please let me know! I'm no guru, but am picking it up and would be very happy to share stuff.

Can you recommend a source of information for MIDI in Ruby for Flowstone? I asked a while back but no responses as yet.

@nix thanks, It's going to take me a while to understand how you've done that, looks amazing. I've only just got my head around the sequencer on the example synth and this is doing a fair bit more. really nice annotation in the ruby code.

I found a link to this from Trogluddite on the old synthmaker forums, written by the guy who originally wrote hackety hack. Certainly fun, if not quite as practical as learn ruby the hard way, definitely not boring;

with regards to ruby specifically in flowstone, I'll try and upload a few examples, most of them just little experiments to see how thing work in the context of the flowstone primitive in FS. I actually found FS to be a really good environment to learn ruby in what with it working in real time and being able to watch and monitor everything.
None of my code is exemplary, but I'll try and show some handy MIDI stuff.

a while ago, a bit of a mess, but there's a basic ruby midi splitter in there and some stuff that modifies input to make chords from single notes or identify chords that are being played in.
Like I say, I'll try and put something useful together.

In the absence of a specific reference for MIDI in Ruby in Flowstone I can look at your examples and maybe get started...
