Solved: EXE exported file never works: no sound
Hi
I've never yet got a working exe export of a project, for stand-alone use. Typically all the knobs move, the presets operate the knobs as expected but I get no sound. I've exported with the audio options and the display zoom menu etc and tried a few variations. When I select any sound driver I just get a click (ASIO, default driver etc.).
This hasn't been a problem so far (I use dll plugin which does work, or stay inside FS) but I wanted to send a file to a friend, to share and make it as easy as possible for him to use, but I am unable to do it.
I'm on Win7 SP1 32 bit, Creative X-Fi Platinum - Latest drivers.
Any ideas?
Cheers

For standalone you need to add either a general menu on export or some schematic-internal menu (available in toolbox) for soundcard/output selection.
Need to take a break? I have something right for you.

Thanks tester.
I did that already but to no effect. No sound but everything else works.
Is the ANY chance you or someone could post a basic schematic along with its exe exported file so I can look at it and test it on my own PC?
I would really appreciate that.

MyCo! You are my Saviour
My tired old brain has got it now. Plus, I feel especially stupid because the hint came from tester but I didn't really understand it
So, for exe I need to put the 'MIDI in' prim and the Audio out Prims inside the module and for VSTs outside the module. SO simple. I wish the user guide had explained it that way...
I really do appreciate you doing this for me, and so quickly. Many thanks.
