Quilcom SIM-WINDHARP: The answer my friend is...

Postby Spogg » Sun Aug 22, 2021 9:07 am

This may well be the most niche (i.e. useless) thing I’ve made so far, but I got interested in Aeolian harps so decided to have a go at a simulator which can cover a wide range of variations (of which there are many).

It’s categorised as an effect but it operates a bit like a synth but with no MIDI input, and all processing is in blue and mono4 streams. It does have a sidechain signal input for controlling the wind speed externally. In fact I wasn’t planning on providing that but I couldn’t export it with no inputs present! Don’t tell anyone. ;)

Some folk believe it’s a relaxing sound so I made a stand-alone export too so you don’t need a DAW for meditation or going to sleep. Not all presets are suitable, unless you like nightmares.

Here’s the video:

Download for the zip with the usual stuff inside:

Have fun!

Thanks Bill.

Can you give more info about your error message please? I’m puzzled why you would want to preview the files after you've downloaded and unzipped...

On the sidebar top right, there are 3 dots at the bottom of the list. Click on that and you get the download option. Dropbox used to make it easier!

As you can see, there's no sidebar,no three dots,no list and no download option.
If I go 1 level inside the zip file,it's the same problem  :? :?

What OS and browser is that? The screen-grab is too low-res to tell, but it looks like XP/Win7, with maybe some flavor of IE...might need Chrome to access the current DropBox site, assuming there's a version that will run on that.

Try this: https://help.dropbox.com/installs-integ ... t-homepage
I keep a pair of oven mitts next to my computer so I don't get a concussion from slapping my forehead while I'm reading the responses to my questions.

I’m using Windows 7 and Firefox browser. I tried Firefox in Private mode and I still see the sidebar with the 3 dots. Like Deraudrl said, I googled it and the main suggestion is a browser issue. I hope you can sort it Bill.
If not, you can get the same zip from http://www.flowstoners.com in the Quilcom section. It’s currently at the bottom of the list.

Good luck!
