Connection limit on selectors/multiplexers

Postby R&R » Sun Sep 25, 2022 2:18 pm

LOL

just... LOL

I seriously need to connect even more. Probably a graphical limit since I can see a new empty connection-point at the top

Probably time to remap index and divide into multiple multiplexers...

The face you make when you realize you're not even done yet and will most definately have to add a "please wait" dialog for when saving a preset

710 parameters...oy.
Could be worse, I guess: analog synth with physical knobs/sliders. :-)
I keep a pair of oven mitts next to my computer so I don't get a concussion from slapping my forehead while I'm reading the responses to my questions.

:D
Analog: Nice!
Sliders: What nightmares are made of...

You’ve gone where no man has gone before!

To the edge of the universe? Zero clue what i'm doing.

Everyone is going to laugh themselves of their chair when they see how boring and few parameters the synth actually has.
Think "example synth"

650 parameters are regular options/mod parameter for those 50. It's ridiculous

What I would call overhead CPU cost of all connections is starting to worry me though.
I just need to add 2 more knobs (approx 60 params each, 30 associated destinations and all connections to them).
In green, thankfully.

...oh... and I have to add a configurable pitchbend :| Allmost forgot.

Animating/controlling to many parameters at once will likely eat up every little transistor... even on a monster-CPU.

Come to think of it, separate slider/switch/knob for each parameter isn't worst-case.

The true nightmare scenario is a minimalist UI:
1. an up-down toggle for parameter selection,
2. a jog-wheel for parameter value, and
3. an 'enter' button.
(Think DX7 control panel, about 10cm square.  )

:D

I wish my FS-plug had that kind of complexity. Comparing my plugin with DX7 interface usability... then it's pretty much the dropdown-menu version of the DX7, but without the cool FM, without any complexity in the OSC part... and without usable sounds...

But who cares... good fun atleast...

Edit:
The madness continues...
