When I'm done with my current work, I would be willing to create a logo for flowstoners.com, and I could render a version of the Flowcom logo as well. Just if you would like to.

OK! :D
Yes please but only when you have time and there's no rush.
I'll contact Malc and get his take on things.

Cheers

Spogg,

Here is a link to my website "Ph D(J) Music" with SynthMaker CM vst plugins I have made. Not sure if you want to use it as a link or not for Flowstoners.com (won't hurt my feelings if you choose not to). Most early ones were just standard modules put together, but tried my hand at graphics, knobs, etc. A couple of the plugins that I was really proud of and spent a lot of time developing were the WavTab, Dark Moon, and the Guitar Amp. I had a lot of help from the gurus on the forums as well. However, after submitting the Guitar Amp to the KVR competition, and it failing miserably, I kind of lost interest for awhile. However, I have done other projects in Flowstone such as my GPS tool and the OBD II auto computer monitoring and diagnostic tool as posted in the forums and I still work on small vst projects from time to time. I haven't updated my website for a while.

Good luck with the Flowstoner.com project.

Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking. It wouldn't have to be just the forum, but I'm not aware of any other place with shared user content. Oh wait, there's the FS Guru site too. Basically I was just thinking it would be handy to have a centralized list of available goodies. I think it could be a selling point too, letting people see that there's an active development community.

Spogg wrote:I'm going to consider this more but not prioritise it at the moment. However if someone else has some spare time (i.e. nobody) and would like to compile a list of links with a brief description of each one, then I would be happy to upload it and maybe maintain it...

I see no hands raised

Well, free time comes in fits & bursts for me, I'll start gathering links into a text file when I can. I'll start with modules first.

I'm not a friend of this idea at all. A list of all available modules should, if at all, be hosted here on the Flowstone forums. The FS Guru site is already well organized.

flowstoners.com should not become yet another "first steps" sharing site. It should be a place that focuses on finished plugins, because that's what people want to see, if they don't know FS yet. Just telling "you can do plugins with it" is not enough. Interested people should have a place where they can see actual plugins that were built with FS, so they go "ah, now I see, it's not just a playground, you can actually build professional grade plugins. wow!"

Also, they would instantly see, how many high quality plugins there already are, so they know FS is a reliable platform that won't be down tomorrow.

So, let's not make another site for us, but the first one to build up interest of others.

I wasn't suggesting that the files be hosted there (just linked), or saying that FS Guru isn't well-enough organized. I was just thinking that when I was considering whether or not to get FS myself, one of my concerns was the availability of modules & examples beyond what comes "stock". The FS Guru site is great, but not everything from the forums is available there (not saying it should be).

It was just a thought though... maybe a silly one. :)

Ok guys, interesting discussion.

How about this idea: I have a Flowstoners page linked on the Links area which simply lists some of the other stuff available on the forum. NO links to the topics or projects. I think this might be an appetite whetter and encourage people to look for themselves on the forum and maybe get hooked into the idea. "MIDI Choir? Wow that sounds interesting..." That sort of thing. I would add that a lot of the items in the list are works in progress.

What do you think? I'm open to suggestions on this...

Cheers

Hey that's a great site my friend!

I've added the link so thank you for that. BTW I found the Blog menu button doesn't seem to do anything; just saying.

To others: this is exactly the sort of thing I had in mind so, if you want to be linked, please let me know.

Cheers

After much thought I've added an area called "Flowmates". The name is the best I could come up with...

This will be for those individuals who would like their work to be available there. If you think your plugin would have wide appeal and would add to the interest in FS then let me know.
Please provide a concise write-up and I will proofread it and post it with the plugin. I don't like the idea of having anonymous authors so I will use your forum screen name as author but if you want your real name up there then let me know (and tell me what it is!).

Cheers

I like it... still gets the point across, and doesn't steal any thunder from the forums or take as much work. :)

Carl from DSPR said he liked the name and the site, there were no problems of a legal nature and he sent me a Flowstone logo (nice shades of orange and black) which I've used in a couple of places. Thanks for the advice tulamide.

Nix says he will give me a few words for a link to his site and I hope others will follow suit. I do understand that not everyone will want the public to know what development tools they use so I don't expect too big a rush! If any of you guys know of a site maybe you could contact them or tell me and I'll contact them in connection with my Links area...

The Flowmates area is looking rather barren at the moment (i.e.nothing there!) so if you want any of your stuff there please get in touch.

Cheers
