drum machine name labels
I need a bit of help with a problem regarding name labels. I have got a drum pad designed I think by loopytunes that has a label that displays the name of the drum sound loaded into it.i am trying to make a drum machine with 16 pads. every time I open up the project and load a new sound into one of the pads all the other wave names disappear the same thing happens when I make it into a vst. I'm a bit new to flowstone so if any one can come up with a solution I would be very greatful.

Re: drum machine name labels
Hi Mr scanz
After opening the project I see the wav names but when I load a new one the other one vanishes, as you describe. However, after reloading both pads this doesn’t happen again when reloading either pad. This doesn’t seem logical to me since I would expect the same result whether freshly loaded or not.
This is one of those really strange Flowstone behaviours, probably related to triggers.
I tried various trigger blocking arrangements but no change. I found that if I used String prims to display the filenames and viewed it on the pad level it didn’t happen, but the label display on the front panel still went blank. My conclusion is that the issue relates somehow to the label readouts but modifying them in various ways didn’t help.
The solution was to change the two wav labels for pad 1 and 2 with Ruby-based readout labels and all is now well and working as expected. The label parameters can easily be edited in the Ruby edit box for font, position, colour and so forth to get what you want. I only changed label 1 and 2 so you’ll need to do the hard work yourself!
What is not very satisfying for me is that I was unable to identify the real issue with the original label readouts. So if one of the wizards here could explain exactly what’s going on with the original labels we could all learn a bit more.
This looks like it’s going to be a nice looking drum machine so keep at it!
Cheers
