Re: Silly Gui question.
Here´s the Vaccin synth I am making a new front panel for .
I am making good progress.
Couple of questions.
It seems that the knobs are drawn within FS rather then imported BMP animation ..i think.
Any tips on how to change them ?
Also , can I have transparent items ? For screens ?

Re: Silly Gui question.
Always been curious if SketchUP could be a GUI designer platform, so I'm following this thread.
Knobs are animated strips.
I've only used KnobMan to make them, but there is suppose to be a way to assemble them with FS ... as I recall from the old SM forum.
Sorry can't offer help ... but I sure hope you post your SU experience for FS.

On this synth they seem to be drawn by a script , unless I am getting this wrong?

Coming along...Lets see how it translates , very nice to tweak the design in SK
I do have these knobs made for FS as well , still trying to figure out how to replace the originals

Re: Silly Gui question.
Funny , I kind of like the grid on the exported image/texture from FS.
Orange glow on the screens was a render mistake , kind of cool though.
Now I need to figure out how to make a cool analyser dude like on the mockup.
Any tips , modules for that ?

Hi.
You seem to have an amazing graphics talent
I had a look at this. Most of the knobs are created in Ruby.
We have a few Ruby wizards here but the supremo I would say is tulamide (no offence to the other guys!). So if you look into the User Guide you'll get some background on Ruby then I'm sure tulamide will help clarify any points you raise with him.
I wondered what is your ultimate goal?
Cheers

Re: Silly Gui question.
NuBeat had made a knob 'strip builder' module ... it might have been over at the SM forum.
[i confess, I don't feel comfortable re-posting someone's work without permission].
Maybe NuBeat will catch this thread and have something to add.

Good job! I am not as worked with SketchUP, I like the blender ...

Re: Silly Gui question.
as far i could see, the used knobs in the synth are the animated stock knobs, so you could exchange the bmp strips with your selfmade ones..
one way would be to use knobman for this
or you include the "not changing" knob part in the background and just draw the knob marker and/or the sweep directly in FS
@RJHollins
sure you always can share my stuff from the forum or link to the forum thread...
here is the stripmaker i did, the knobdesigner itself is pretty basic you could improve it or add more designoptions.
You can also use some premade bitmap as knob background and draw just the moving animation with ruby and create a strip out of it.. it doesnt matter how you create the knob, the stripmaker basicliy just create snapshots in a row with different knobvalues
