Synthmaker bundle
Re: Synthmaker bundle
Thanks for the 'kick in the teeth' - I'm such a web-dunce, I didn't know what you meant by 'embed the Bandcamp player', so I went to his site and clicked on it; well you know the rest - I had no idea you could do that.
As to donations, the wifey (CFO) is against it - thinks, for some reason it opens us up to some kind of tax liability or something - can't seem to divest her of this notion, but it's fine with me.
As I've said before the BEST way for someone to 'pay' me is to HELP make these better! - it was the main reason I put all these on the Flowstone forum first. Help with making the stupid-ass stepLFOs more like a real vintage analog sequencers (Spogg did link me trance-gate-y things but I couldn't correlate them to an old-school sequncer). Help with better filters. Help with the Buchla Source of Uncertainty/random CV stuff. There's just stuff I couldn't figure out on my own and except for Bluesmoke (and you) sussing out the Yammy IL/AL EGs and Spogg's work on the Wavefolder and the above tips on sequencers, there has been mostly crickets. Save your money folks, lets polish these up a little. I'd be especially keen to get the Music Weasel functioning more accurately, but there are probably so few people that are familiar with the little beast and have/use FS, that that's probably never going to happen.
To end on a sunnier note - I am grateful for the help I have gotten here and am happy that some folks have gotten some use out of these, as they are.

Re: Synthmaker bundle
That was quick!
I only know about the BC player myself because I've tried to embed it into a couple of websites before.
And failed.
But I knew it could be done ...
Your other half is probably right.
I know a few people - including a couple of VST developers - who actually stopped trading because of the European VAT/sales tax changes a year or two back. It means that anyone selling anything within the EU has to charge/collect the tax at the rate prevailing in that country, and pay it to that country's government.
Hopefully things are a bit better in your part of the world, but it's not something to stray into blindfold.
On a recent documentary, I heard Schoenberg described as having 'the genius of generosity'. I had to listen to that twice - 'the generosity of genius' also seemed appropriate.
Generosity certainly has its own kind of genius.
Music - the sort that's worth listening to, anyway - has a certain generosity at its core.
I think all art does.
And it's one of those intangibles that make your synths more than just another bunch of plugins.
Not something to measure in dollars and cents.
I wish I could help with the technical stuff, but my brain really doesn't work that way. I installed SM from Spogg's upload, and took a look inside a few of your schematics - and the default demo synth - but I just can't get any of it to 'click'.
And those with the skills - members of this forum - are doubtless pursuing their own projects with the same dedication that you afford yours.
The old SM forum might have some of the info you need. I saw a link to it recently - but it's a .zip, and I don't know what format the contents are in, so it may not be easily readable. It's here: http://www.naiant.com/SM/ if you want to give it a try. (Thanks to Dalton Mavvamore on Music-Society http://music-society.de/index.php/topic,5658.0.html for the link.)

Re: Synthmaker bundle
Right on all points - great post.
I'll look into digging around around in the old SM forums, but I did a great deal of that when I was initially building these, shortly before SM became FS, BUT - I turned these over to the community because I don't want spend a lot of time on this any longer; now that I'm represented by a gallery means most of my time needs to be devoted to putting art on their walls. 'Here you go guys - go crazy', but you're right folks have their own projects to work on; I just thought I'd throw it all out there and see what happens, but not much did (as far as further work on them).
That said, here's one from quite awhile ago, that I just param-named:
Elkette. Approximates a dual layer of Elka Synthex.
Bet I'd get flamed big-time on KVR for this one - given it's built on humble SM oscillators and filters, it's sound is going to be nowhere near the characteristic, powerful sound of the Synthex, but it had enough unique features to make it worth a go anyhow (esp. the oscs' ability to audio-rate PWM each other simultaneously!).

For filters have a word with Martin Vicanek.
But I think there may be a problem with you not having Flowstone.
Regarding the Buchla Source of Uncertainty, or any other thing that needs emulating, can you specify exactly what the thing needs to do? I had a look some time ago but didn’t find much information. If you can provide a definitive specification, video or anything, it should be straightforward. I presume the original was purely analogue so it shouldn’t be too tough to reproduce.
In my own case, although I’m retired and the kids have blown, I still don’t have anywhere near enough time to persue all the stuff that interests me. I have it in mind to take one of your synths, optimise it and write some presets but at the moment I’m putting most of my FS time into my granular synth.
I say it again, what you have given the community here is simply amazing so thank you and thank you for keeping on giving. Initially I thought you’d dropped all your goodies onto us and were off, which is why I did the initial checks and conversions to FS. I’m surprised and delighted that you’re still working on the products.
On the subject of donations if the grateful enthusiasts could get together and pay for a FS license for you would that help things along? Just in theory; I don’t know whether anyone would want to do that or how it could be organised…
Cheers

Re: Synthmaker bundle
As far as the Source of Uncertainty, there is a somewhat helpful description of what it did on a page for the 'Wogglebug' - a modern module based on the concepts of the Buchla SOU. But as I said, this would probably have to be done by a Flowstoner who has,or has access to, a Buchla system to be able to compare them.
As far as any real 'further work' it is pretty much a case 'here they are and I'm outa here' - I may do a few more param-namings, but that's about it.
Thanks for your interest in doing some work yourself, when you have the time - I'm sure all would be grateful for anything you can do.
I did briefly get tempted to do an emulation of the Schmidt synth, but it just looked like a real time-suck to dive into.
Fascinating machine, though.
Thanks again, Spogg.

Re: Synthmaker bundle
Got another 'oldie' from the original Bundle param-named : Obie-12, one of the first things Spogg went into and fixed a few things (thanks 'S'). Did a few more fixes and upgrades.
The panel color can be blended from 'original' blue thru grey to a coppery color.

Re: Synthmaker bundle
645mb in the actual edition today?
i cant tell you how i fixed it, because i didnt changed anything.
i noticed that the DB site loaded at the first try correctly.
all other times i tried it and at the first visit it showed me everytime a blank page, only the cookie-reminder was displayed - after page reloaded the tree was building up and the content displayed.
downloads failed.
i have 0 idea, but for the moment it works (wonder how long). i was close before to go to someone else to load it there....

Re: Synthmaker bundle
Decided to do a version of Tone Boardz with more emulative envelope controls; they still function the same, they just look more like the hardware and have it's odd labeling: "Attack Time, 1st Decay Time, 2nd Decay Time".
Tone Boardz_eg2 :
The original version is still in the folder, for those who've already made presets for it.

Re: Synthmaker bundle
Also did something I should have done initially - an alternate version of Synthegrated 80 that has the modules arranged the way they were in the Moog System 35: VCOs > VCFs > VCAs > EGs., for when you aren't using it to create CS-80-like dual 'synthlines'.
Synthegrated 80_arr2 :
The original is still in the folder - schematically, they are the same, so presets should work for both.

Just wanted to make sure you're only downloading the "Named-Params" folder - if you try download all the folders it's going to be massively huge.
