My version of Martin's Organ won't work 64bit

Postby k brown » Sun Dec 24, 2023 8:16 am

As a companion piece to 'The V-Suite' that I posted about awhile back, I did an altered version, and GUI for Martin's Organ. I added a second set of drawbars and the ability to switch between them (as one could on a Hammond). Also buttons to control the volume with a MIDI Expression pedal (or the mod or PB wheels). It's got a bunch of presets based mainly on drawbar settings from a couple of Hammond manuals.

The 32bit plugin works fine, and the schem works fine in FS4, but the 64bit vst puts out no sound! I've never experienced this before.

Oh, sorry to hear that. I‘ll have a look in the next days. We can sort it out, I am sure.

While everybody in the house is still sleeping, I did a quick test and exported a 64bit VST2 using v3.0.9b2-3484-g7792583. It did work at my end!

Thanks for doing that, Martin.

I guess it must have something to do with the version I'm using - 3.0.9b2-2643-g42e98d6.

I just re-opened the orig FS3 schem into FS4 and exported a new VST, and still, no dice. Very weird.

Does it work when inside FS4?

Using ASIO outs in FS?

I often encounter issue and have to make sure my synth plays before the actual export. Otherwise the export ends up silent.

Moreover I've also connected both poly and mono selectors in several places to my "clear synth" button... to force schematic reloads. So I can usually clear the exported synth anyway to make it play.

The worst culprits (usually asm's or parts of schematic with several asm's) are isolated between "multiplexer and selector", and are switched when changing a setting in the synth to really force reload of those particular parts (atleast what it seems to do).

Answered in first post; yes works fine when open in FS4 - only the exported VST is affected.

Also, if there was a problem in the schem, then Martin's export wouldn't have worked.

Dooh! :) Read that and forgot it immediately when reading your responses lol... Sorry...
I have an attention span of a goldfish :D

Yes this is a bit strange.
Atleast for me (Reaper) in 64-bit, the VST3 of your plugin works but the VST2 is silent.

Both 32- and 64-bit works in .EXE format.

Even weirder - Martin said his VST2 export worked fine.

The VST2 actually works, I just had to change the preset...

So I think every 64-bit export works for me too...

It's looking like the issue is my earlier version of FS4 just can't make a functioning VST from this schem for some reason.

Can some kind soul post a working 64 bit dll, so I can offer it to my 'customers'?
