network client fails access now and then

Postby jjanson » Fri May 17, 2013 2:23 pm

Hi,

anyone experiences with failing network client connections using IP and port 2000?
We use Omega iBTHX environmental readers, witch read temperature, humidity and pressure.

The flowstone app i made is failing connection now and then.
Accessing the reader via its own webpage is working correct and i can read out values.

Made a button to open the connection and it seems connecting but then reading out is not possible.

Rebooting the readers helps, but it seems not a failure of the readers as their internal webpage is always working.
So it looks then like the network client module recieves something or so that it is working again.

Restarting the flowstone app sometimes then gives access again.

Is there maybe some bug in the network client module?

Thanks for any help.

Had a message from Newport to try a different port instead of port 2000, cause it could break the connection due to inactivity. So testing it right now. Seems to work well for the moment.

cheers

My router does go to sleep from time to time also on port 21, even tho there is a demand for data aquisition.
Used to be a working component imo.

Lots of devices will close the connection due to inactivity. Some require a heartbeat to keep the connection alive.
