A simple question for a three/way switch

Postby Wishx » Thu Aug 08, 2013 8:38 am

Hi, I have a simple request. I have embeded two distortion units before a compressor and this is used as one module. so I want a switch that has an ''On Type 1'' - ''off'' - ''On Type 2'' off = bypassing the distortions and only using the compressor, so in other words this is a three way switch... can you help me ? I bet you can :) I'm a rookie in ruby and Flowstone so excusee my ignorance :/

Here is a simple example using a knob. You can change the knob bitmap to switch bitmap (having only 3 cells) and adjust the sensitivity parameter so it looks more "realistic".

WoW super thanks! that was fast! Could you also assist me in embeding two overdrives (with the 3way switch) to the default compressor/expander - also taking off that cutoof -atten module and replace it with the 2 ovedrives but it should be before the compression but after the compressor input~ and thats that really ~ making the midle bybass of distortions and the compressor be working clean :) I hope this is not too much, I'm good at knowing what goes where but sinse still a rookie I have some trouble... :/

I can assist you, but I need a schematic to work on. So I can see what you want (preferred with comments in the schematic).
With "taking off that cutoof" you mean: removing the "Cutoff" knob? In this case, you would also loose some other controls (eg. Low/High, Low/Hi Meter). And btw. I don't have your 2 overdrives that you are refering to.

I've simplified the schematic of the compressor a little bit, and added the overdrives.

I don't really like the default compressor... it's kind of way to complicated for what it does.
