Req: a Mod to a Push Button/Toggle

Postby RJHollins » Tue Nov 05, 2013 9:35 am

Had this nice little module design going, and needed to add a push button toggle.

All going good till I then realized ... it no got a 'PRESET' module :o

Of course, I'm trying to match and compare to other stuff ..... nothing

So now I'm forced to throw my carcass to the ground in humble, ... "how to do this" :?

In need the PresetManager able to track the button, along with Automation.

also ... is there any link where I can learn more about what's involved and how to do this ??

Thanks for helping if you can !

That was a nice technique NuBeat.

BTW ... it worked a treat !

Just tying this into the 'Multi-function' slider. I only needed 2 states to track.

I'm still in the test module ... tomorrow I'll look to drop this into my project for test run.
AND study what you did compared to the orig button.
mmm ... slow learner

Thanks! 8-)

not everyone uses SM..
and FS (and SM) is here to build your own designs, so why talking about stock modules instead of solving an issue, in my designs there is nearly every part designed by myself also selectors, buttons or switches because the stock ones are just examples how you could do it but you also could do it different, improve it or just be happy to do it by your own...

however, to build things like this by your own also helps you to understand how things working and can make your designs better.. so "why using stock modules when you can do it by your own?"

Hi Xtinct ... I'm not exactly sure what stock switch you're thinking ... but I did go through my toolbox looking.

This particular push button I used had many of the useful features I needed ... till I realized the lack of preset. :o

I have gone in and made mods to components. I guess they would be considered 'no-brainers' ... but I could verify that my mod worked, and not mess up something else ... or at least I could work it till it did right.

Involving the PreSet Manager is something quite new for me. I'm in my first project that actually has it visible for use. The project is quite involved [for my level] ... so not much confidence in me adding Preset control into this button.

Another very important factor ... the opportunity to learn [or try] from experienced programmers here. Not just on my threads, but I like to follow the topics and discussion. Not just to learn about a PRIM or line of code ... but I see a thinking concept that I'm trying to absorb. [hard to explain .... but I'd guess I'm trying to move away from my normal, comfort, chaos mode]
This all started as curiosity, and a type of relaxing hobby. The more I can learn, I think the more fun this becomes ... just seems to take me too long
